Rothenburg ob der Tauber is located directly on the route of Jakob’s Trail, one of Europe’s oldest pilgrimage paths.  The distance from Wuerzburg to Rothenburg is 79 KM, and from Nuremburg to Rothenburg is 85 KM.

From Rothenburg you may travel in three directions:

  • Towards Ulm (189 KM)
  • Towards Rottenburg am Neckar (approx. 200 KM)
  • The third destination is Speyer

The Priest who looks after guests and tourists offers pilgrims spiritual support for their trek to St. Jakob’s Church. If you begin your pilgrimage in Rothenburg and are heading to Ulm, Rottenburg or Speyer, he will give you a special blessing that you may keep to the right path. If you plan to spend some time in Rothenburg, you can participate in a short service at St. Jakob’s. And if you’re arriving from Wuerzburg or Nuremberg he will receive you at St. Jakob’s with prayers and blessings.
